Tips for a SAFE and COMFORTABLE holiday in Bali
It is important to note that crimes may occur any time and anywhere in the world, without exceptionally in Bali. Here are some tips to keep your valuable things are safe while you are travelling around the island of Bali:
Please ALWAYS deposit your very valuable things (original passport and travel check) in the safety deposite box where you temporarily reside in Bali. Please take only the copy of your passport with you wherever you go. This is to assure that your passport will never be stolen or left unintentionally in tourism sites in Bali.
Never put your belongings unattended! This means that you need someone to take care of your stuffs even if you need to leave them for a second.
Never let your doors and windows opened while you are sleeping or out for holiday. Always lock them before you go to bed or go out.
Always keep your hand bag with you and please never leave them with someone that you have not known him/her well.
Please report to the nearest police office immediately if you have lost any of your valuable things such as handbags, camera, money, wallet, etc. The police officers will assist you to to investigate a case.
If you go out for a night life in pubs, cafe and discotique, please make sure you are not drinking too much or get drunk. This will be difficult for you to return back to your accomodations (hotel, villa, hostel, etc.) safely as any harassments may happen any times. Please make sure you hire a legal taxi to drive you home safely. This can be done by asking the receptionist or security guards to call for a taxi.
If you hire a car and drive by yourself, please do drive very carefully! Some drivers and riders are running their vehicles dangerously. Pay particular attentions to motor bike riders who usually overtake from the left even if the traffic is jam. They always try to move further and find the way to go on even though the space is very limited.
If you car breaks down or if you get flat tire, please ensure to lock up before you go for help! Sometimes thief approach unlocked cars and try to steal valuable things.
