Denpasar Festival - DENFEST
Denpasar Festival is an annual cultural event conducted by government of Denpasar City between 28 and 31 December. It is conducted in the zero kilometres or at the Catur Muka Statue - the central of Denpasar City.
This festival presents a number of art works and shows, traditional and modern food stalls, urban playground, photo boots and many more. These will challenge everyone who likes such creativity and moments.

This year (2019) is the twelft Denpasar Festival. It presents many artistic works produced by local Balinese people. This is not only to introduce the new producations, but also to sell them publicly in order to gain the economic benefets for the local people.

Barong Dance - one of popular Balinese dances was also presented this year to entertain million visitors flooding around the event venue from the morning to evening. Additionally, the committee also perform Worshipping dress contest for teenagers and elderly.

In 2018, the eleventh Denpasar Festival which also known as DENFEST will be officially opened by the Mayor of Denpasar on 28 Deceber 2018 afternoon. The opening ceremony takes place in the junction of Catur Muka or on Gajah Mada Street which is now also serve as Denpasar heritage site.
Denpasar Festival which goes for three days is expected to be visited by twenty thousand people which potentially speed up the economic engine of Denpasar especially the small-scale enterprises which are involved in the event.

Denpasar Festival is usually visited more thousand visitors during the festive season. Some people just walk around the site, some also just doing thier selfies to update their social media status, and some parents with kids just take their children to the assembled playgound to allow them have fun playing around the playground.

During the day ceremony of the Denpasar Festival a number of cultural shows performed at the junctions of Catur Muka Statue or at the corner of Puputan Square. Of course, this rite is attended by thousands of people who are really curious on this event.

"Tajog" bamboo legs - a traditional alinese game
Denpasar Festival is now also used as the moment to introduce traditional games such as "Tajog" - a running competition using "bamboo legs" to current generations who most likely do not experience such game as they were born in the millennial age.
It is really great to play this traditional game. For beginers, they may fall down many times before they can stand and further run using these bamboo legs; however for the experienced ones, they can just grab them and run.

The Denpasar Festival 2018 also introduce the new re-branding of Denpasar City namely "Denpasar - the Heart of Bali" which means that Denpasar is the central of paradise island where people can find anything for their needs: leisure, culture, religion, business, agriculture, husbandry, sport, and so on.
An number traditional and modern entertainments also presented during the festival. The live traditional Balinese dance show for instance is watched by hundreds of people coming from different regions on the island wherein they are coming there pospusely to see the shows. This is the way local Balinese epople enjoy thier culture while spending their Christmas dan New Year holidays.

Children will be attracted by fascinating art works such as topeng (mask) and wayang (puppet). The old shop keeper will be welcoming kids very frendly to ensure they are interested in thier stuffs. He will show the kids how to play. He will act like a real player. This is the best way to show and introduce the kids to culture.
